Will you be in the same place next year as you are right now? Or will you make the commitment to infuse your leadership with character? What will the impact of the next year be on your life?
Leadership is in a state of crisis
- CEO seems to be the new four-letter word. In one study, 73% of respondents felt corporate CEOs were not honest or ethical.
- In the US, we’re about to let the government provide health insurance for our nation because we don’t trust the businesses that do it.
- For many, “Wall Street” is less trustworthy than any other institution even among stockholders. For more info, see this article from the Financial Times.
Leadership dynamics have changed
- Few people today would like to be identified as a follower.
- Everyone, even employees, are more like volunteers than followers.
- Leaders must build more and direct less. They must learn how to envision a future that inspires people to contribute.
- People want to be engaged in noble causes that are worth the energy. To paraphrase James Carville, “It’s the vision, stupid!”
Take Action Now!
It’s time to restore the nobility of leadership, and that can only be accomplished through change. Even if the direction of your present leadership is good, the inertia of your life can propel you on toward the same good, but not great, results. It takes the strength of a community to help you alter your direction in a meaningful, lasting way. That’s why I’m launching Lead Change Roundtables, based on the principles of Character-Based Leadership. Your Lead Change Roundtable will be 5-7 people whom you advise and who advise you on real life leadership that will make a difference long term in the results you achieve in every aspect of your life as a leader. Part sounding board, part test lab and launch pad, the roundtable will challenge you to achieve the real impact you want.
Can you commit to:
- Four hours a month in a virtual board room gaining, growing and sharing as a leader?
- Execute your plan and help hold others accountable to execute theirs?
- Improve and help others improve their character-based leadership skills?
Each group will be facilitated by Mike Henry Sr., founder of the Lead Change Group. Known nationally as a character-based leadership coach and committed leader, Mike’s experience, team-building skills, and commitment to each individual’s success mean this roundtable will be unlike any other leadership program you’ve experienced. Contact Mike to learn more or get started.
Special Offer!
We currently have openings for a new group that will meet twice a month on Friday’s between 2:30 & 4:30 PM Eastern time. This group will be offered at $247 per month for 12 months. (You’ll also need to bring your best effort, and have Internet connectivity and a video-capable computer. A one-year commitment is required. You can receive two months free by paying $2470 up front.
What you Gain From the Roundtable Format:
You will be teamed with high-caliber leaders, each helping one another. It will be like a personal board of directors. Each month, you will review the previous month, set goals and plan actions for the next month, and get help and resources to equip you for the effort. Your experience will help your group and their experience will help you. You’ll gain perspective through the shared goals, singular focus and different experiences, helping you overcome core issues rather than just addressing symptoms. At the end of the year, you will have several close friends and advisers, twelve milestones and significant lift in your personal leadership development. You’ll grow as a leader, achieve meaningful goals you’ve struggled with, build a meaningful networ and community, and help to grow other character-based leaders.
You’ll sharpen your leadership skills through practice because character-based leadership is a practice. You can’t learn leadership from a book any more than you can learn how to drive a car or fly an airplane. But just like flying or driving, errors are costly. So your group gives you insight, perspective and experience to help you avoid the errors and succeed. And you will help 5-7 other people do the same thing. This is a peer group designed to help you execute on the leadership skills you already know plus learn new ones and new way of thinking about leadership.
