I often read leadership posts or engage in leadership discussions where different definitions of leadership are present. One definition of leadership implies position. But on the Lead Change Group website we talk about Character-based leadership. Character-based leadership is influence others grant you because of who you are, not because of what position you hold.
I thought of 4 ‘senses’ of leadership based on one’s character. Since it is different from positional leadership, those senses, a sense of mission, urgency, responsibility and service, are senses you either have to have or develop.
