A Word About Resetting—and Community

This blog post is going to be a little different than what you’re used to here at Lead Change.

The last year and a half has provided many lessons, and one of those lessons comes in the form of leading change—reevaluating what was, what is, and what the future holds. For us here at Lead Change, it’s taught us that sometimes you just need to pause and open up the opportunity to reset.

As most of you know, the team at Weaving Influence took over stewardship of the Lead Change Group blog in 2014, and has been consistently providing near-daily leadership content that all of you have contributed to on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis.

We’ve grown the site in so many ways and continue to rank among the top-rated leadership blogs each year. Our team has poured their time and energy into the editorial and web management side of running the site, but as we come into Q4 of 2021, we’re taking a step back to reevaluate our investment in Lead Change.

As a result, we’re pausing operations on the site and will not be accepting new contributor submissions.

Don’t worry, though! The archives will remain live at leadchangegroup.com. We encourage you to visit the site often when you need to be encouraged. So many of our thought leaders have contributed their expertise, and I hope you’ll use the archives as a guide to leading change, whether that’s addressing communication issues on your team, leading through a crisis, or simply taking some time to reset where it is you’re going.

We will continue the Leadership Development Carnival through 2021. In October, Julie Winkle Guilioni will host. We are looking for guest hosts for the November and December Carnivals. Stay tuned for more on this topic.

The Lead Change community has been a vital inspiration for our many years here, and we would like to thank each of you for your commitment, dedication, friendship, loyalty, and support. This group is truly top notch, not only in your experience and wisdom, but in your willingness to share and uplift each other. You truly have been the driving force behind our work, and it’s an honor to have you on the Lead Change team.

As we take a minute to determine what’s next, we’d love to hear from you. We’re open to ideas and suggestions about how to create a financially sustainable approach to continuing the project. Are you interested in sponsoring the site? Volunteering your time to the community? Have other ideas? Please email Becky Robinson at becky@weavinginfluence.com with your ideas!

Thanks for everything, Lead Change. Keep sharing, keep supporting, and keep leading for change.
