A Way to Recognize and Reward Leaders

Guy Harris and I co-authored From Bud to Boss: Secrets to a Successful Transition to Remarkable Leadership, which was released earlier this year. We also host a companion online community —the Bud to Boss Community — designed to help new leaders and supervisors continue their growth as leaders. You might also know that we co-created a 2 day workshop — the Bud to Boss Workshop — that is delivered around the country, both in public settings and inside organizations, in conjunction with our marketing partners, Briefings Media Group.

I want make sure you know about to the newest addition to this growing brand— the first ever national awards program recognizing new leaders, leaders who successfully transition from being a peer to being an effective leader. They are the first Annual Bud to Boss Awards!

Guy Harris and I are the Co-chairs of the Advisory Panel and will lead the selection process (along with our esteemed panel) that will crown winners in 19 industry categories, and ultimately a singular winner next March in Chicago.

We are excited to announce this, and to encourage you to nominate a new leader who is making a difference and deserves to be recognized (yes, you can self nominate as well).

Every nominee will receive a number of powerful products (including a copy of From Bud to Boss), valued at $268.95, plus a certificate of recognition for their efforts, learning and success. (There is a fee for the nomination process – but it is far less than the value of these products themselves).

As nominees progress to win at the industry and overall levels there are significant additional prizes. (All of the details, as well as the nomination form can be found at the Awards website.)

The transition to leadership is a challenging and rewarding one. We want to support leaders making that transition, and are already providing resources to new leaders in a variety of ways. The best support though, includes encouragement and recognition, and we believe these new awards provide a wonderful way to make that happen.

I strongly encourage you to nominate those you see as worthy —both in terms of their progress and their effort. They are making an difference, and your recognition will spur them to even greater heights!
