This policy sets the standards for everything published by the LeadChange Research Team.

Standards

Accuracy

Every factual claim must be correct at the time of verification, and we record when it was last checked. If we cannot verify a claim, we do not state it as fact. We say it is unverified or leave it out.

Sourcing

Every fact must be verified against a source we keep on record. We prefer primary sources, such as vendor pricing pages, documentation, and trust centers, then official government sources. Secondary sources are used only when necessary, are recorded as such, and lower a product's data confidence. See our methodology.

Independence

Our rankings and scores are computed from verified facts using our published methodology. Commercial relationships do not influence what we research, how we score it, or what we conclude. See How we make money.

Neutral language

We describe vendors and products in neutral, factual terms: dated statements we can source. We never use mockery or sweeping negatives such as "worst", "terrible", "scam", "overpriced", "useless" or "avoid it". Where a product is a weaker fit, we say what it does not offer or publish, or who it is less suited to, for example "no published pricing" or "less suited to companies with hourly staff", and let buyers weigh it against their needs.

This rule is checked automatically: our content and every page we publish are scanned for these terms before release, and a match blocks the release. This page is the only exception, because it names the words it rules out.

Legal disputes between vendors

When two vendors we compare are in litigation with each other, we cover it only as dated public-record facts: who sued whom, when and in which court, what each side alleges, and what the courts have decided so far. Each fact comes from a court record or a reputable news report and is shown with the date we last checked it. Claims are always described as allegations, never as established facts, and we do not predict outcomes or use wording that favors either side. We re-check these facts every month.

Scores are editorial assessments

The LeadChange Score is an editorial assessment based on public information, computed with our published methodology. Every score is shown with that label and the date its facts were last checked. It is not a user rating and not a hands-on test, and we never present it as either.

Pages still in research

Some pages cover a category, segment or product where our research is not complete. They show only what we have verified, say plainly what is still in progress, and never fill gaps with estimates, placeholder rankings or invented figures. A ranking appears only once enough products pass our research checks.

Use of AI

We use AI to assist with research and drafting. AI helps collect facts from sources, check consistency, and produce first drafts. People set our standards, define the methodology, and review published content; automated checks enforce the sourcing rules before anything is published. AI output is never published as fact unless it traces to a source. We do not use AI to invent quotes, experiences, people, or test results.

What we will not publish

  • Claims we cannot trace to a source.
  • Gratuitous negative language about a vendor or product.
  • Hands-on testing, interviews, or personal experiences that did not happen.
  • Named experts, credentials, awards, or customer counts that do not exist.
  • Paid placements presented as editorial rankings.
  • Reviews or ratings written by us and presented as user reviews.
  • Content copied from vendors or other publications without attribution.
  • Statements about pricing or compliance that we know to be out of date.

Updates

  • Each fact records the date it was last checked against its source; facts are rechecked when we update a category's research, when we learn that a vendor's page changed and when we receive a correction request.
  • When a fact changes, the change log of the product's own page records what changed and when; price and plan changes also appear on its pricing page.
  • We only change the "updated" date when page content changes.
  • Material errors are fixed promptly and listed on our corrections page.

Conflicts of interest

LeadChange Group earns referral fees and affiliate commissions from some software providers. To manage this conflict:

  • Commercial data is never an input to scores or rankings. The scoring code reads verified facts only, and an automated test fails our build if it ever refers to offers, commissions, leads or buyers.
  • The system that builds our pages has no access to lead requests or to what providers pay for them.
  • Products are evaluated whether or not they have a commercial relationship with us.
  • Links that can earn us money are labeled as sponsored.

We do not accept payment to change a score, ranking, verdict, or correction.

Vendors

Vendors do not need a relationship with us to be covered, and they cannot pay to be covered differently. A vendor can:

  • Request a correction of any fact about its products through our correction request form, with public evidence. We review every request within 5 business days.
  • Point us to a public page we should check, such as a new pricing page or a certification.

A vendor cannot review a page or its score before publication, ask us to remove accurate, sourced facts, or buy a different score, rank or wording.

Feedback

To report an error or question our coverage, use the correction request form or contact us.
