How to choose immigration & visa software

Decide who the primary user is: your HR team, outside counsel or the employee. A tool for law firms differs from one built for corporate mobility teams.

Then test deadline tracking and document handling with a real case. Immigration software is about accuracy and timing, and mistakes carry legal consequences.

  1. Case and deadline tracking

Missed expirations can mean a lapse in work authorization.

  2. Form I-9 integration

Employers must complete Form I-9 for every hire and may need to reverify.

  3. Document collection and storage

Cases need many documents from employees.

  4. Counsel collaboration

    Cases usually involve attorneys.

  5. Form and questionnaire automation

    Data should be entered once.

  6. Public access file and LCA support

H-1B employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and attest to the information in it.

How we research

Ranked by the LeadChange Score, computed only from verified facts: capability coverage (30%), pricing and value (20%), integrations and API (15%), security (15%), fit and support (10%) and data confidence (10%), times a category fit. Products with too few verified facts are not scored yet and come last. Payment never changes a score or a position.

Read the full methodology

  • Facts, not impressions

Every input is a fact verified against vendors’ official documentation, with the date we last checked it.

  • Missing data is never assumed

Unverified items are left out of the score and lower its coverage; below 60% coverage a product is not scored yet.

  • Independent of revenue

Rankings never depend on whether a vendor pays us.
