What we compare

Verified so far: Perceptyx and Culture Amp. A side-by-side table needs more products to be useful; each value is checked against the vendor’s own documentation.

Capabilities in the comparison

  • Data source connectors

Connects to HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking and survey systems to pull data on a schedule.

  • Metric library and definitions

Provides documented HR metrics such as turnover and time to fill with visible calculation rules.

  • Historical data model

Keeps point-in-time history so headcount and trends can be reported for past dates.

  • Self-service reporting

Lets HR users build reports and cuts of data without writing code.

  • Dashboards and visualization

Presents metrics in shareable dashboards for HR and business leaders.

  • Predictive modeling

Provides models, such as attrition risk, with disclosed inputs and accuracy.

  • Fairness and adverse impact analysis

Tests outcomes such as hiring, pay and promotion for differences across groups.

  • Access and privacy controls

Limits sensitive data by role and suppresses small groups to protect individuals.

  • Data export and warehouse access

Sends data to a customer data warehouse or exports it in bulk.

  • Survey data integration

Combines survey results with HR data for analysis.

How to choose people analytics software

List the ten questions leaders ask most often, then check that each can be answered from your data. The best platform is the one that answers them reliably.

Data connections, definitions and access control matter more than chart variety.

  1. Data source connections

Analytics is only as good as the systems it reads.

  2. Metric definitions and governance

Disagreement over how turnover or headcount is calculated destroys trust.

  3. Data model and history

Trend analysis needs point-in-time history, not only current state.

  4. Access control and privacy

Workforce data is sensitive, and small groups can identify individuals.

  5. Self-service reporting

HR should not be the bottleneck for every question.

  6. Predictive and modeling features

Attrition or workforce scenarios may help, but must be explainable.

Requirements by company size

  • Small businesses

    • Prebuilt dashboards for headcount and turnover
    • Direct connection to your HRIS
    • Low setup effort

    Watch out for

    • Platforms that assume a data team
    • Dashboards too thin to add value over HRIS reports
  • Mid-sized companies

    • Several source connections
    • Governed metric definitions
    • Self-service reporting for HR and managers

    Watch out for

    • Inconsistent data across systems
    • Per-user pricing for viewers who only need dashboards
  • Enterprises

    • Warehouse and API access
    • Row-level security and privacy thresholds
    • Predictive and scenario tools with explainability

    Watch out for

    • Cross-region privacy and works council requirements
    • Long implementation if data is not harmonized

Red flags

  • Metric definitions are fixed and cannot be reviewed.
  • The vendor cannot show how history of job and manager changes is stored.
  • Predictions are shown without the data or drivers behind them.
  • Small groups are displayed without a privacy threshold.
  • The vendor cannot say who owns the data and how it is deleted at contract end.

How we research

Ranked by the LeadChange Score, computed only from verified facts: capability coverage (30%), pricing and value (20%), integrations and API (15%), security (15%), fit and support (10%) and data confidence (10%), times a category fit. Products with too few verified facts are not scored yet and come last. Payment never changes a score or a position.

Read the full methodology

  • Facts, not impressions

Every input is a fact verified against vendors’ official documentation, with the date we last checked it.

  • Missing data is never assumed

Unverified items are left out of the score and lower its coverage; below 60% coverage a product is not scored yet.

  • Independent of revenue

Rankings never depend on whether a vendor pays us.
