How to compare recruitment marketing products: the capabilities we check against each vendor’s own documentation, and the products verified so far.

What we compare

Verified so far: Jobvite. A side-by-side table needs more products to be useful; each value is checked against the vendor’s own documentation.

Capabilities in the comparison

  • Job distribution

Posts jobs to many boards and channels from one place.

  • Source-to-hire attribution

Tracks which channels produce applicants and hires.

  • Career site and landing pages

Builds career pages and campaign landing pages.

  • Programmatic advertising

Automates job ad buying with budgets and bidding rules.

  • Ad targeting compliance controls

Limits targeting options that could produce discriminatory ad delivery.

  • Talent community

Captures interested candidates and keeps them engaged.

  • Email campaigns

Sends recruiting emails to talent pools with unsubscribe handling.

  • Employer brand content

Manages employee stories, videos and company profiles.

  • ATS and CRM integration

Connects to the applicant tracking system and recruiting CRM.

  • Pay range fields

Adds pay ranges to postings to meet pay transparency laws.

How to choose recruitment marketing software

Choose on whether the tool connects spend to hires, not just clicks and applications. A platform that cannot report cost per hire by channel only moves your advertising problem into a new dashboard.

Ask to see a closed-loop report from one existing customer type similar to yours, with names removed.

  1. Channel reach and job distribution

Reach decides applicant volume, but channel coverage and fees differ widely.

  2. Source-to-hire attribution

Without ATS data, you only see clicks and applications.

  3. Career site and landing pages

The career site converts the traffic you pay for.

  4. Programmatic and budget controls

Automated bidding can overspend without limits.

  5. Targeting and ad compliance controls

The EEOC says job ads cannot indicate preferences or discourage applicants on protected characteristics.

  6. Talent community and email campaigns

Nurturing past applicants lowers the cost of filling the next role.

Requirements by company size

  • Small businesses

    • Simple multi-board posting
    • Basic career page
    • Transparent ad spend with caps

    Watch out for

    • Auto-bidding without spending limits
    • Subscription fees for features you do not use
    • Weak ATS reporting
  • Mid-sized companies

    • Source-to-hire attribution
    • Programmatic budget controls
    • Landing pages for key roles

    Watch out for

    • Agency fees on top of platform fees
    • Duplicate candidate records across systems
    • Ad spend with no pause rules
  • Enterprises

    • Multi-brand and multi-region career sites
    • Role-based permissions and approvals
    • Enterprise integrations with ATS, CRM and analytics

    Watch out for

    • Long implementation and change management
    • Ad spend governance across business units
    • Content and brand consistency at scale

Red flags

  • Reports show clicks and applications but not hires
  • No spend caps or pacing controls
  • Targeting options include protected characteristics
  • Cannot export contacts and campaign data
  • No consent and opt-out handling for talent community emails

How we research

Ranked by the LeadChange Score, computed only from verified facts: capability coverage (30%), pricing and value (20%), integrations and API (15%), security (15%), fit and support (10%) and data confidence (10%), times a category fit. Products with too few verified facts are not scored yet and come last. Payment never changes a score or a position.

Read the full methodology

  • Facts, not impressions

Every input is a fact verified against vendors’ official documentation, with the date we last checked it.

  • Missing data is never assumed

Unverified items are left out of the score and lower its coverage; below 60% coverage a product is not scored yet.

  • Independent of revenue

Rankings never depend on whether a vendor pays us.
