Gusto and Slack: questions
Does Gusto integrate with Slack?
Yes, as a provisioning app: Gusto creates Slack accounts for people you add and removes them when they leave. Gusto MCP is also available inside Slack.
Which plans does the Gusto Slack integration need?
Slack Business+ and Gusto Plus or Premium. Gusto's provisioning list says the Slack connection requires a paid Slack subscription.
Will Gusto remove Slack access when an employee leaves?
Yes, for accounts Gusto created or that you matched to a Gusto profile: matching is what lets you remove access from Gusto at departure. For Slack, removal deletes the user.
Can Gusto create Slack accounts for contractors?
For US contractors, yes; international employees and contractors, and admins who are not employees, are outside provisioning.
Why does Gusto show «Invite Sent» for a Slack account?
The person has not accepted the invitation yet; for some apps the status changes to «Connected» only after they do.
Does the Slack bot account count as a seat when matching in Gusto?
No. A bot account on the match page can be left unmatched, and it is not counted as a seat for billing.
