Pricing. SurePayroll's entry plan is $29 plus $7 per worker; QuickBooks' Workforce Payroll is listed at $50 plus $7, though we could not confirm it on a current payroll pricing page. QuickBooks Premium is $88 plus $13 and Elite $134 plus $17. SurePayroll lists extra fees such as $9.99 for multi-state.
Capabilities. Both document tax filing, direct deposit, time tools, contractor payments, and employee self-service. QuickBooks adds hiring, onboarding, and HR workflows on higher plans and a tax penalty guarantee; SurePayroll adds household payroll and overtime rules. Neither publishes a complete plan-by-plan feature list.
Integrations. StratusTime is the only named integration we could confirm for SurePayroll. QuickBooks lists partners for health insurance (Allstate), 401(k) (Vestwell), workers' comp (NEXT), and HR advice (Mineral). We could not confirm accounting integrations for either, or a payroll API for QuickBooks Payroll.
Fit and support. Both target small businesses. SurePayroll lists weekday phone and chat support and is rated 4.1 out of 5 on Capterra across 307 reviews. QuickBooks lists phone and online support but not product support hours, and we did not find third-party ratings for it.
