How to connect Workday to Culture Amp
- Bring in your Workday administrator early: plan on one to two weeks for setup and validation.
- In Workday, build an Advanced custom report in JSON format, enabled as a web service, owned by an Integration System User with View access to every domain in it.
- Copy the report's JSON URL and the integration user's username and password.
- In Culture Amp, go to Settings, Account, Integrations, choose Workday, enter them and click Validate Credentials; retry if it times out.
- Choose whether to turn on daily syncs, then ask Culture Amp Support to map your custom fields before the first sync.

An employee with an end date becomes a former user on that date, and one dropped from the report without an end date becomes a former user at the next sync. With an SFTP file instead, missing users are simply ignored.
Why are some demographics blank after the Workday sync?
The integration user is likely missing View access to that data domain: the sync still finishes, but those values arrive blank.
Can I keep some Workday employees out of Culture Amp?
Yes, with filters on the Workday report or a custom «Exclude from Culture Amp» field set to Yes.
