How to connect Slack to Lattice
- Make sure the person connecting is an admin in both Lattice and Slack and is signed in to Slack in the browser.
- Check that each employee uses the same email address in Slack and Lattice.
- In Lattice, open Admin, Settings, Platform, Integrations and select Slack under Communication Integrations.
- Enter the channel Lattice should post in, then click Allow to authorize it.
- Set a channel for Updates, Feedback (praise), Goals and Pulse, or leave a field blank to keep that tool out of Slack.

Do employees need to install the Lattice Slack app?
No. After an admin connects Slack, the app shows up for everyone after their first notification or a search. Employees also get an onboarding message when Slack is first connected, and new hires get it later.
Which Lattice tools can post to a Slack channel?
Updates, Feedback (praise), Goals and Pulse, each to the channel an admin types in, or to none if the field is left blank. Pulse posts every anonymous comment, so Lattice recommends a private channel limited to admins and executives.
Why can't an employee use Lattice in Slack?
Usually the email addresses differ: Slack and Lattice accounts must use the same one. Someone with no active Lattice account sees the app but is told to ask their admin.
Can I turn a Slack message into a 1:1 talking point?
Yes. The Add as 1:1 Talking Point message shortcut copies a Slack message into the agenda of an active 1:1 in Lattice.
Can Lattice post in a private or admin-only Slack channel?
Private channels are supported and are what Lattice suggests for Pulse comments, but the app cannot post in channels whose posting permission is limited to admins.
